• The lack of silver and  abundance of bronze & copper  metal led the Sultan to issue coins that had the same value as silver. The new copper coins with the same value, however, were not designed to be complicated & could easily be forged..
• But this proved a  failure. This currency was not trusted by people of the 14th century. They were really wise. they had saved  gold and silver coins & paid the all their taxes to the state in the token currency. This cheap currency could also be easily  counterfeited
• In their houses, people started to mint coins. The coins of mined copper inundated the markets. When the merchants and vendors failed to recognize such coins, the situation got worse. Economy came to a stand still.
