Undoubtedly, Miriam had left her father deliberately. She had been in love with a soldier whom she married against the wish of her father. If the marriage would have been solemnized with Ali's consent, he would not have been so miserable and lonely! If she had not gone deliberately, she would certainly come to meet Ali after her marriage. She knew she had acted against her father's wish, so she did not have the courage to face him. Though the possibility is she might have missed him a lot, and regretted having defied her father, but it was too late now. So she considered it right to stay away from him.
