Mr Anagnos's behaviour towards Helen was not justified. In spite of initial sympathy with her and believing her side of the situation, he changed his stance. The night before the celebration of Washington's birthday, one of the teachers of Perkins Institute talked to Helen regarding "The Frost King". Helen told her that Miss Sullivan had narrated her the story about Jack Frost and her wonderful works. Something she said made the teacher think she was confessing that she had copied her plot from Miss Canby's story of 'The Frost Fairies'. She conveyed her conclusions to Mr Anagnos who thought he had been deceived by Helen. He also began suspecting Helen and Miss Sullivan had stolen the story. Mr Anagnos should have listened to Helen. He had been known to her for a long time. He knew Helen was an extremely talented girl. But still he suspected her!
