Mr.Gupta did the right thing by accepting the shilling from Maggie. Maggie gave him the shilling so as to buy flowers for her brother Frank's grave. At first, Mr. Gupta didn't want to return the shilling but later he decided to keep it as behind the shilling there lied the feelings of Maggie for her brother.
