  • Newland's law of octaves has some limitations . They are :-

  1. There are instances of two elements fitted into the same slot Ex: Co and Ni.
  2. Certain elements totally dissimilar in their properties ,were fitted into the same group.
  3. The law was not valid for elements that had atomic masses higher than calcium
  4. It was not left any room for new elements.
