Yes nightingale was Indeed responsible for her own death. She was less confident and due to this she was tricked by the humble and cunning frog. She was a good singer but lacked confidence and faith which lead to her own downfall.

Yes, I think, Nightingale was responsible for her own downfall because she was not having confidence on her own song and skills, she was acting like foolish and got strangled in cunning threads of frogs hating or competitive nature to remove frog's competitive.
