Plastics are bad for environment because they take a  long time to decompose ,  they’re so cheap, this leads to pollution .

2.  advantages of plastic are:

they are light in weight

its strong and cheap to produce

plastic can make water bottle, pen, plastic bags , cups

plastic can reduce soil erosion and wind erosion

plastic protect forest by it takes less energy to produce than many other materials, it makes a lot of green tech possible, and it replaces materials that are “sustainable” only because they come from destroying animals or trees.

3. biodegradable means capable of being decomposed by bacteria or other living organisms and thereby avoiding pollution.

non- biodegradable means a kind of substance which cannot be broken down by natural organisms and acts as a source of pollution.

4. biodegradable  plastics are plastics that can be decomposed by the action of living organisms, usually bacteria.

Two basic classes of biodegradable plastics exist. Bioplastics, whose components are derived from renewable raw materials, and plastics made from petrochemicals containing biodegradable additives which enhance biodegradation.

5.  we can reduce the usage of plastics and polythene in our surrounding by

Bring your own shopping bag

Stop buying bottled water.

Bring your own thermos to the coffee shop

Choose cardboard over plastic bottles and bags

Say no to straws

Plastics are useful material to mankind but it has potential dangers when compared to environmental security and purity.

Here I have mentions some advantages of plastics.

  • They can be used to produce materials in low cost.
  • They are durable.
  • They are water resistance because of long polymers.
  • They are lustrous.
  • They are light weighted and can be easily shaped.

The biodegradable plastics:

Plastics that are made from corn starch which are particularly engineered to degrade into nature as soon as possible where the non-biodegradable plastics are made from petrochemical which are naturally can’t be digested by the nature.

How usage of plastics can be reduced:

Here I subject the below point for both biodegradable and non-biodegradable plastics because, after all biodegradable plastics are also plastics which possess potential threats to nature.

  • Reduce the usage of plastics by using metal carriers and tools for packing and transporting.
  • Use bags that are not made form plastics.
  • Avoid burning old plastics and return them to certified recycling factories.
