According to R.A. Jahagirdar, in the Indian context, secularism has been interpreted as the equal treatment of all religions. In particular, the most significant impact of religion in everyday life of an Indian citizen is in matters of civil law – marriage, divorce, inheritance and others.
Our constitution does not discriminate anyone on the basis of caste ,creed and gender. Everyone in India is free to practice any relegion. There is no official relegion in India, hence making it a secular country.
