  • In my opinion Sher Shah Suri is the founder-father of our big nation. It was his statesmanship and farsightedness that laid the concrete foundation of the Indian Empire.
  • He gifted India the much needed connectivity by creating the Grant Trunk Road linking the farthest extremes of India.
  • His economic reforms laid the foundation of the Indian currency -the Rupiah.  
  • He brought all parts of India under one rule and administered the entire kingdom most ably increasing trade relations with neighbouring regions.
  • He was the immortal Ustad-i-Badshahe , a teacher of kings, a title bestowed upon him by his arch rival -Humayun.

Achievements. Sher Shah was a good general and administrator. He introduced a new currency, a silver coin known as 'Rupia'. He reduced custom duties and built an excellent connection of roads, including Grand Trunk Road in Bihar, which was 1,600 miles (2500 Kilometers) long.
