Yes..of course Shylock is a tragic figure in the play as because he just goes on to use his anger against Antonio to actually lose his only daughter jessica.he feels at first that he is very much clever and has the villain mind to execute the very tact of killing antonio only for his revenge.Even that he proves to be a villainy character he is actually marked as the most pitiful character in the end when actually Portia manages to get back antonio and bassanio from the evil want of Shylock....Shylock looses everything and all his monies are confiscated by the state of Venice and the other half goes to Lorenzo and Jessica.
