More likely cleistogamous has more advantages than disadvantages.
Some of its advantages are:

1. It ensures pure line breeding of the plants which is essential for studying genetics and heredity.

2. Good quality progenies are produced which have the same traits of the parent plant.

3. The plant does not need to scent, nectar or extract pollen to attract pollinators.

Hope it helps you.

the flowers in which only autogamous occurs and which do not open at all are cleistogamous flowers.the advantage of cleistogamy is that the plant can propogate itself under unfavourable conditions.the disadvantage is that there is self pollination due to which the chances of variation and evolution of genetically superior plants is reduced.
