As of now, bluetooth cannot replace USB data transmission even after upgrade of upcoming few generations of technology.

  • The bluetooth data transmission is completely wireless. Whereas, the USB data transmission is completely wire based.
  • The biggest drawback of the wireless bluetooth data transmission is the transmission range. The bluetooth can be used to transmit data wirelessly in the distance of few metres only. On the other hand, the USB data transmission based upon wired connections which can be easily extended up to desirable distances.
  • The wireless data transmission to an extremely high range of area is somehow impossible as of now due to basic laws of the intensity of the radio waves. This drawback cannot be easily fixed in the upcoming few generations of technology also.
  • But, there are wireless data transmission possible which can even compete with the USB data transmission. Eg. 5G wireless data connection etc.
