Yes, after the second world war the world seems to be divided into two major aligns, but India opposes the policy of choosing one of that aligns. This helps India to grow in various fields instead of taking part in that type of aligns and choosing the path of war. India used that time for its development and reconstruction and since it didn't choose any particular aligns so it was free to deal with any country of any aligns. In fact, this policy of India was supported by many other countries.
