I think it is because of capitalism. Human beings have designed a system in which money is everything. As long as money is ruling everything. Humans cannot appreciate nature because everything in nature seems like a product that they can sell in the market and make lots of money. Things that should be priceless have been given a price. How can a human being respect nature if he only sees it as a resource and nothing more. Animals are being abused and treated as toys that anybody can buy and sell. I think money is good thing but in some cases like this it ruins the essence of life.

The Hunger for money is destroying nature and sooner or later we will witness a disaster in which nature will suffer and in the end we will too.
