Pygmalion is definitely a very excellent romantic story. It catches the eyes of reader through good way of describing things.it's look like that it have capacity to create romanticism through using very unromantic things.
For instance , just take the example of love of Pygmalion with statue of his own. He love it so much that calls this statue his wife. And every time when he comes home he goes first to statue even he prays for this his so called wife.
When can't imagine easily this much love with a statue as romanticism is not there according to them because a statue is a lifeless thing. but this is what actually happen in the story.

"Pygmalion is not a story about true love, nor is it concluded with a “happily ever after”. It is what Shaw identifies as a realistic romance, or what we perceive as the anti-romance. ... Shaw even configures the only confirmed romance of the play, being that between Eliza and Freddy, into the opposite of a fairytale.
