Do you think that the death penalty should be allowed? Why or why not?
Answers
Answer:
Not all crimes are the same. Not all criminals are the same. The death penalty versus life imprisonment is a difficult subject. But the death penalty should be allowed on the severity of what a criminal did and whether he regretted his deed and reformed himself. There are some instances where a person charged with physical assault was granted bail and he went back to complete the unfinished task by murdering the victim. The death penalty also serves as a deterrent to serious crimes. It serves as an example of justice to the society.
Further, the death penalty is not only about the defendant but also about the plaintiff, the innocent victim and his or her family members. In an extreme and inhumane crime, the plaintiff party will feel justice was insufficient and they were let down. If the judiciary cannot give the verdict of death penalty on very rare extremely heinous crime, we may be forced to take the law in our own hands.
