In my opinion ,
Nightingale wasn't stupid, She was innocent and inconfident.
As she was so inconfident of her singing that the Frog took advantage of her singing. She thought that her singing was inferior than the frog and the frog could teach her. If she was even a little bit confident about her singing , then she must have refused the frog's invitation for teaching her singing.
She was innocent in the sense , that when the frog told her that he was the owner of the tree and was a very good singer she genuinely believed the frog.
