As per me , no. We can't rely on their accounts to reconstruct our pasts because they may glorify themselves in their accounts . Eg -Just like the British , who , still say that everything they did was for the ' benefit ' for India but it wasn't. If they hadn't invaded India , it wouldn't have been so ' corrupt ' today and would've been richer than any other country . According to a report , in 1919 , 1 Rupee meant $13 but now , $1 = 67 Rupees , well , how can you explain that ? . Students were forced to read about the texts which glorified the British and their administration

1)The book History of British India was the first book of history of India written by a Britisher(James Mill) and this proved colonists rule of Britishers and ridiculed Indian nature.
2)The Cambridge history of British India was written in five volumes and proved colonism and superiority of Britishers.
