income and expense activies r economic activities. And we know components of economic activities are individual or customers, firms and state. all the activities are related to human welfare and economic growth, there needs of growth of all sectors, we cant measure people on classes, i.e again traditional discrimination..should be avoided.. so we compare and consider those only for statistical view to predict future needs but not as classification of income/expense activities or economic activities

Yes, the classification of economic activities into primary,secondary and tertiary sector is useful

because of the following reasons :-

It helps us to know about what are the share of each sector in GDP in our country

It helps us to know how many workers are employed or working in primary, secondary and tertiary sector.

It tells us that which sector is gaining more importance.

Secondary sector is gradually becoming most important in total production and employment. But there is shift taken place The service sector has become the most important in terms of total production.
