do you think the coastline affected telangana government
Answers
Answer:
VISAKHAPATNAM/HYDERABAD: Telangana may have managed to bag Hyderabad but it lost a crucial 'coastal advantage', making it the only south Indian state sans coastal access after division. The entire 974 km-long coastal stretch of erstwhile unified Andhra Pradesh (AP), covering nine coastal districts, now falls within the territory of residuary Andhra Pradesh.
Explanation:
Telangana, which doesn’t have a coastline, has raced ahead of coastal states in fish production growth rate. The national figures for 2018-19 show that Telangana has the highest growth rate along with Kerala. From 1.9 lakh tonnes of fish in 2017, the production has almost doubled to 3.2 lakh tonnes in 2018-19.
Telangana surged ahead by having more fish ponds and by stocking fish seed in water bodies. “As a result of continuous stocking of fish seed in water bodies, fish production has increased substantially,” Sandeep Kumar Sultania, secretary, animal husbandry and fisheries department, told TOI. The state government spent ₹367 crore on boost fish production.
