Yes the frog was heartless because the frog made the bird to sing all night in rain .The frog is responsible for death of nightingale because it only made the bird to sing continuously which made the bird so weak.and at last because of weakness and tiredness the birds vein burst and it died .

Yes , he just thinks of himself and just fond of money. He was just not giving a single break to the nightingale to take rest.
