I think the Britishers would have attacked again and the Nawab would have been defeated sooner or later. They did this in case of Anglo-Maratha Wars, Wars with Tipu Sultan and wars with French for control over India.

So, we should not assume that had the Nawab won The Battle of Plassey, the situation of Bengal, or of India for that matter, would have been v different.

The only power, after the fall of Mughals, who could have defeated English was The Marathas, but they never really recovered from 3rd Battle of Panipat and also they lacked vision.
