Answer:Yes, the narrator's father did the right thing, by informing his boss Jim Kendrick about

the Buick Road Master . The father was a kind-hearted man and always believed in the

character-building. Also, he emphasized on Living on little develops inner resources and

builds a spiritual bank account . As a parent ,he was under the moral obligation to set up

right example in front of his children which he rightfully did. If he kept the car with

himself then he would have set a bad example for his son . Although they would have no

richer by means they would have lost their character.
