Answer:

Yes.

Explanation:

Yes, the way the narrator at first explains the reason for choosing achillies defines him as an animal lover. He also knew what Achilles and Roger loved, what Achilles did, how he got irritated, his everything. He also cared for him. And at the time of Achilles funeral, he felt sad as he describes it as a somber scene. This proves to us that he loved his pet animals a lot.

Answer:

Yes, the narrator was a animal lover. He was always fascinated, enthusiastic, and excited for owning pets. He only had 1 dog, and a true animal lover would always want more pets. He fed his animals with care and then watched with interest their competition for grapes. He was always there for the animals to observe, play and give them company that is why he talked about many incidents about Achilles like, whenever anyone would come into the garden, Achilles would poke  through the bushes. If we were sitting on a chair, he would come and lay on our feet and sink into a deep sleep. If we were laying on a rug, then Achilles would survey us and choose a part of our body to climb towards, as if he was practicing mountaineering. He cared for his pets very much, infact, he organised a funeral for his pet Achilles which was very sad for his family because Achilles was very close to them. Even after Achilles death, the narrator bought one more pet from the Rose Beetle Man, a pigeon. He kept very nice names for his pets like for his dog-Roger, for his tortoise-Achilles and for his pigeon- Quasimodo.
