The dust of snow that fell on Frost is considered as the positive element as it completely changes his mood from sad and depressive to joyful and hopeful. The symbols like crow and the hemlock tree represent negativity as a crow is associated with something dark, black and foreboding. Also, the poet has mentioned the hemlock tree , which is a poisonous tree. The poet could have used more beautiful birds like nightingale or white doves and trees like maple or oak . But the poet uses these two as he wanted to represent sadness, regret and negativity from these elements.
