Answer:

Yes if you like birds! They love to sit on scarecrows and laugh at us. Birds love my 7 ft height windmill that turns in the wind and goes 360 degrees around.

It was bought as a scarecrow.

Birds fight for a perch on the metal bars. They love their own personal merry-go-round.

The kookaburras are the first there in the morning.

They laugh their crazy haunting laugh and then laugh even harder as the windmill goes faster and faster in the morning breeze.

Then the magpies arrive, they are crow size with white wing stripes and attitude.

Maggies dive bomb humans during their breeding season.

The windmill gives the Magpies a perfect vantage point to call and sing their territory.

I feed our Maggies minced beef and chicken heart. After breakfast they leave for the 30 meter Yellow Box tree.

The parrots are here, like a joyful bunch of court jesters, playing to the king.

Beautiful colours flashing in the sun. They cover the scarecrow. They closely pack the struts of the windmill. Round and round flying as fast as the wind will push them.

Answer:

Not very—unless you're willing to put some extra effort into them. While traditional, motionless scarecrows do work against “pest birds” (e.g. crows and blackbirds), the effect is almost always temporary. Over time, the birds get used to stationary dummies and resume their destructive habits.
