The Renaissance humanists believed in the limitless potential of man. However, at the same time, they did not forget the past. The spirit of enquiry of the Renaissance humanists permeated scientific enquiry into nature as well as the explorations and expeditions for probing into different realms of knowledge. In effect, it proved to be the principle cause of Renaissance.
