Answer:

In “We Want to Negotiate:

  • The Secret World of Kidnapping, Hostages and Ransom,” author Joel Simon analyzes hostage situations involving Westerners taken from Syria.

One example:

  • American journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff, who were executed. Judy Woodruff sits down with Foley's mother, Diane Foley, and author Simon to discuss why the U.S. might need to reconsider its negotiation policies.

No, in my opinion, US should never support or bargain with those who take hostages.

As we all know that these hostage-takers plays with sentiments of country and the people as they treat it as the easiest way to force anyone to act on their instructions. Like, the terrorists plan to take the ambassador hostage so as to get their demand fulfilled forcefully. Robbers take entire families as hostages and then they demand for ransom. Ransom if denied, they threaten countries that if you will not do whatever we are saying, we will kill the hostages. Sometimes, they demand for release of terrorist too by taking planes and buildings as hostages. But one should keep this thing in mind, when we will bargain with these kinds of hostage-takers and will obey their instructions, they will open-up in future in more dangerous way.

As we all know that US is a super power in every respect and they have the power to evacuate the world from such bad situations. I believe, they should take strict action again hostage-takers and they should be treated brutally so that no one can think of doing this sin in future. With the support of other countries, US should plan a strategy for such situations and even they should work together to end this brutal system of taking people as hostages.
