Yes, I think that still there is a preference for fair skin in India.

• There are several examples, even we can see this mentality in our day-to-day life.

• Look at the matrimonial sections of the newspaper, everybody wants fair toned brides.

• People consider a fair toned person as more beautiful as compared to the dark toned people. One might have never even thought what a dark skinned person feels in India. They are never told that they are beautiful.

• Even in the film industry, preference is given to fair toned models.

• Dark skinned people are tortured so much that they end up trying everything to lighten their skin tone.
