Most people mistake wisdom for education, like a high school diploma or college degree. Seeking wisdom is not the same as gaining knowledge: Knowledge is a precursor to wisdom. Wisdom includes an intuitive element, an insight gained from personal experience that serves us as we make choices in our lives.
Education is what you learn from school or college or an institution or a book. These things can be taught from outside. This is not that deep.
Knowledge is the things you absorb from what they teach in these institutions or books. Your can also acquire knowledge from practical experiences in life.
Wisdom is however the most important part. Wisdom is your ability to assimilate and incorporate the knowledgeable things you were taught at some point of your life. Wisdom comes from suffering. Wisdom is knowing what to say or do and what not to. Wisdom is in apathy as well as in sympathy. Wisdom comes with maturity. A wise man is far more superior than a knowledgeable or an educated man.
Knowledge is gathered from learning and education, while most say that wisdom is gathered from day-to-day experiences and is a state of being wise. Knowledge is merely having clarity of facts and truths, while wisdom is the practical ability to make consistently good decisions in life.
