"In India, states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Kashmir, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir, and Telangana follow bicameralism.

One third is elected by local bodies (gram sabha's, panchayats, panchayat and the district councils of India) and the MLA's of Legislative assemblies of particular states.

The other one-Sixth is nominated by the governor of the state.

One-twelve is elected by persons who had been a teacher in schools and by the graduates belonging to the state.
