Doctor has prescribed a lens having power +1.5 D what will be the focal length of the lens!? What is the type of the lens and what must be the defect of vision!?​

Since, the prescribed lenses have their power positive these are convex lenses. ... A convex lens has a positive focal length and since power is described as inverse of focal length taken in metres, thus convex lenses have positive focal length.

Solution. = 1/+1.5 = 0.67 m. As the power of the lens is (+ve), the lens is converging.

So the focal lenght can be :-

f = 1 / P

= 1 / 1.5

= 0.66 m
