Hey there !
The answer would be yes. This is because the functional groups are nothing but the compounds formed by displacing a Hydrogen atoms present in the hydrocarbon.
After displacing a Hydrogen the functional group gets bonded with the carbon thereby giving rise to new compound of carbon.
E.g. CH₄ has 4 Hydrogen atoms. For making it alcoholic one Hydrogen is removed and the functional group of alcohol ( OH ) is attached to it's place.
So the compound becomes CH₃OH which is called methyl alcohol.
