Yes , a glass tumbler gets affected when ice is placed in it .

                                                        Glass is a very poor conductor of heat so when ice is placed inside the glass the inner surface of glass contracts but the outer surface remains same with the environment temp . Thus , due to the difference in temperatures (pressure) the glass cracks .
