Answer:

3(y+2)=2(y+4)

3y+6 = 2y+8

3y-2y = 8-6

1y = 2

so, 3(2+2) = 2(2+4)

12 = 12

Answer:

3 + (y  + 2) = 2(y + 4) \\  3 + y + 2 = 2y + 2 \\ 5 + y = 2y  + 2 \\ y + 5 - 5 = 2y + 2 - 5 \\ y = 2y - 3 \\ 4 - 2y = 2y - 3 - 2y \\  - y = 3 \\  - y \div  - 1  =  - 3 \div  - 1 \\ y = 3
