Maurice Ravel was basically an orchestrator and Bolero is a 15 min orchestral song.
No song today is so long or slow except the film scores. He could be compared to Terrence Blanchard as he is a jazz musician or to Hans Zimmer as him and Maurice use strings oftenly. Nowadays EDM and hip-hop are taking over almost all the existing genres so it would be hard to find any similarities between Bolero and present day music.
