HEY THERE IS YOUR ANSWER......

CALCIUM's valency is 2+.. calcium has 2 electron in its outermost shell, so it's electronic configuration is (2,8,8,2).. it loses its 2 electron to attain stability according to octet rule..AND elements which are not in d-block don't have variable valency as they can form one stable ion only.......
