Does copper also get rusted? I have seen a greenish deposit on the surface of copper vessels.

yes its true..

this can be seen when an iron nail is dipped in the solution of copper sulphate solution. Before the reaction the color of the solution was blue but after the reaction the color of the solution became greenish color and a brownish - red deposits can be seen.
