When sugar (C12H22O12) is heated it melts and then caramelize giving of water. After this, it turns black (carbon) and then converts to CO2.
So, heating of sugar is an endothermic, decomposition(thermal) and oxidation reaction.
When Ammonium chloride (NH4Cl) is heated , it directly goes from solid state to vapour state without changing in liquid. So, heating of NH4Cl is an example of sublimation reaction.
