does deleting our discord account deletes our Google account?
Answers
Explanation:
When someone closes their account, all their messages, information, and images remain. Retaining them has their uses; it allows people to refer to old messages and groups. However, it can also be dangerous to leave that info. Not only is it noncompliant with “the right to be forgotten” as the messages left can paint a clear picture of one’s identity, especially if an account was terminated because one is underage. Just like the request data button can collect all data and package it, one should have the deleted account have all information removed entirely, including images, servers still owned by the deleted account, and messages. Too much info is left when one closes their account, allowing doxxers and bad actors on Discord to save the data and let others abuse it. Please consider this as well as retroactively deleting all data of previously deleted accounts. Thank you!
