Yes, the digestion starts from the mouth and there the tongue and teeth help break down the food and saliva helps to dissolve the food. And then comes the part where stomach plays a vital role there are enzymes which help break the complex molecules and convert them into simpler molecules. In the small intestine, most of the nutrients are absorbed and the things which can be digested they go to the large intestine and there the water is reabsorbed before the waste leaves the body.
