Yes it does.
The thing is whatever your mind visualises throughout the time when you are awake it keeps on recording the moments. By the time you are fast asleep your mind tries to recapture those moments BUT! what you will dream will not be the exact replica of what you had seen. This is because our mind tends to think in the way as we desire.
You might question then why do we sometimes get scary dreams? This happens because our mind remains attached to something which we don't like and in this process we tend to think more about that thing which we are afraid.
I hope my words gives a basic idea.......... :-)

Yes, or perhaps maybe dreams do have a connection with reality.
Dreams have been a mystery to science since ages. People say they are a way heaven speaks to you, or it is a vision of your future, but I don't think it really is true.
When we think hard about something and fall asleep while thinking it, we dream about the same things most of the time. They say dreams are a recollection of events of past or an animation of your imagination or things you have heard of.
How does this connect dreams to reality?
Dreams are said to be connected to reality because they are 80% of the time just the recap of our daily lives and events. These things happen in reality, and thus we can say dreams connect to reality.
Sometimes, when we dream, it happens that whatever we saw in our dream comes true (not totally). How does that happen? Is it just coincidental or do we really have the powers of seeing future through dreams? This is a fact that we can not explain, and perhaps another connection of dreams to reality.
But despite all of these, I think dreams are a way our brain stays awake and active and projects imagination so that our brain doesn't get overloaded (Because we forget 90% of our dreams).
