Does ethanoic acid give iodoform test scholar

Acetic acid contains a − C O M e group, so theoretically, it should give a positive result in the iodoform test (i.e. a yellow precipitate of C H I X 3 being formed). But apparently the iodoform test is used to distinguish between acetic acid and other compounds with a − C O M e group.
