does hemoglobin carry Carbon dioxide AND Oxygen? Does it just carry one of the two?

It can carry both. Carbon dioxide doesn’t compete with oxygen for binding process. Haemoglobin carry O2 from lungs to tissue and CO2 from tissue back to lungs
Haemoglobin + oxygen = oxyhemoglobin
Haemoglobin + carbon dioxide = carbaminohaemoglobin
Haemoglobin + oxygen = oxyhemoglobin
Haemoglobin + carbon dioxide = carbaminohaemoglobin
