Hlw mate!!
There are contrasting opinions on this matter owing to different types of Christians that I come across.
First - The classy Christians :
These people are highly dignified, well educated, do not overreact to hindu/other religious customs, and are one among us.
They hold high positions in the society, have a class of their own and are very broad minded. They think of prayer as a private affair instead of gathering in a building and foul mouthing other religions.
Many generations ago they belonged to a dharmic religion. Hence they have retained many customs of their ancestors and might have made the decision of conversion by their own and not by compulsion of a stupid man.
These people are respected by 90% of dharmic followers.(I am a follower of sanatana dharma and was born into a family of the Brahmin VARNA and I admire them for their class and broad mindedness one of my very good friend is a Christian and his family treats me like a kid of their own)
They are just awesome.
Second : The Ricebags
These people are the worst people that one can come across. They change their religion in exchange for something. They indulge in foul mouthing hindu gods. I recently came across a stupid video of a silly girl abusing kali mata, a hindu deity, for wearing a necklace made of skulls. Silly girl doesn't even know that kali mata is worshipped as the destroyer of evil and the skulls on the denote that the demons have been slayed.
These Ricebags don't even know 1% of what's the in the holy Bible and just keep a cross in their homes, stick phrases on vehicles to show off that they are devoted. They don't even know the history of Christ or any other biblical figure. They heed to words of brainless orators who pose as magicians and claim to perform miracles.
They are easily lured by the missionaries who tweak the principles of Christianity who are on a business expansion spree. They blindly accept the niceties offered and sell their heart. They try all their tricks in the book to add people into their chain marketing model which is being rejected by sane people.
These people shouldn't be respected.
Hence, as a true secular Indian, all I want to say is Christianity has its own beautiful merits. I love some of the principles of Christianity. There are really nice Christians who are very tolerant , broad minded and there are gutter-level slum dwellers who simply speak nonsense without any thought. These are a disgrace to the religion and are the reasons for outrage against Christianity in India.
Jai hind!
Hope it helpful
