Does hydrogen loose electrons to get stable? And if they do then there will be no electrons left in its K shell. How is that possible?

hey mate...

Hydrogen doesn't actually donate electrons...
It SHARES electrons with other elements to form COVALENT COMPOUNDS and becomes stable....

EX:- Hydrocarbons

...hope this helps...

anushka724: if it doesn't loose electrons then why is it considered as a metal?
TheReverseFlash: It is not considered as a metal
TheReverseFlash: it actually doesn’t have a fixed place in the periodic table
anushka724: oh.. thanks.. got it now
TheReverseFlash: Yo

Hydrogen doesn’t lose electron to become stable but it gains electron to gain the inert gas configuration ~ Helium. If it loses electron there will not exist any atom twelfths and hence doesn’t lose electron.
