Yes of course, India need two standard time. As time difference between the extreme points is of 2hours it always make a problem while travelling west to east and vice versa. There must be 2 standard time in india

As time is calculated on the basis of longitudes there is a difference in time after each longitude(1° = 4 mins of difference in time)
two states Gujarat and arunachal Pradesh have a time difference of 2 hours
