no India has only in only one Standard Meridian and which passes through Mirzapur which is in Uttar Pradesh the degree of the standard Meridian is 82 degree 30 minutes East and this is taken as the Standard Time of India

no dies not need to have more than one standard time as our standard time is merdian which divide our india almost in equal pars.as we already know that is a lack of 2 hours between gujarat and anunachal pradesh, so thr time will vary and cause lot of confusion.and we will more than 1 standard time whole india will have different time
