Meristem have membrane bound nucleus. Meristematic cells consist of prominent nucleus as well as cytoplasm. However, they don't have a vacuole.

Meristematic cells have the capability to divide and also form new cells. The meristematic cells do not need to store food and other nutrients to survive because they have the capability to divide.

The energy for cell division comes from the glucose that they make. The membrane also has a protective function and does not allow germs to enter the cells.
