I do not think so, like you need parental choices only till the time you had not even take your deciesions but after you get mature and can take your deciesions own you can make your own choice nad its not only I am saying even majority of person in this world do the same!

Partially yes and no.
Parents have closely observed you and may know tour choices and wishes. Yet they have their own wishes which the could not have fulfilled want to fulfill them through you.
But it is your choice that matters the most. You have a personality and passion.
